  • This Data Integration Case Study records the rsults of using Boomi.

  • Boomi is an exciting new arrival, offering Data Integration on a 'Software-as-a-Service' basis. In other words, it is the Salesforce.com of Data Integration. This Case Study will provide material for Barry's forthcoming Presentations in London on Data Quality and Master Data Management.
  • CDI is often the first step in Master Data Management. This will typically start with Customers and then progress to Products and Suppliers.
  • Ten of my Database Schemas are made available by Microsoft with the Express Edition of SQL Server 2005.
  • The Sources in this Case Study are taken from those Databases.

    Source Data (1) Source Nr.1 is the Customers Table in the Contacts Database Schema.
    Source Data (2) Source Nr.2 is the Customers Table in the Customers and Orders Database Schema.
    Source Data (3) Source Nr.2 is the Customers Table in the e-Commerce Database Schema.
    Target Data The Target will be the Generic Customers Table in the MDM Database.
    Mapping A Spreadsheet will be used to define the Mapping from the Sources to the Target.
    This will include Rules for Validation and Transformation.
    Thisk Spreadsheet will be loaded into the Data Dictionary at a later stage.
