Hi Guys,

I have an msaccess database (Office 2007) which runs fine (read & write) in XP. However in both Vista & Win7 it opens "read only". However, if UAC is disabled then all runs well.

Does anyone know if/how it's possible to have read & write access with UAC enabled.

Regards,

Dave

Two possibilities come to mind.

One is to run Access using As Administrator (note that in Vista and Win7
this is different than using an id that is in the Administrator group).

The other is where is the database located? Certain folders are locked down
in Vista and Win7, and you might need to try putting it somewhere else.

Access 2007 database on Windows Vista and Windows 7 DataBase I created a database using Access 2007. I am going to distribute it the Access 2007 runtime engine. The problem is that engine is only supported up to Windows XP SP2. What do I need in order for my database to run on PC's with Windows Vista and Windows 7? Is there a version of the runtime engine that will work with those operating systems? Access Discussions Windows XP (1) Windows Vista (1) Access 2007 (1) Windows 7 (1) Office (1) Database (1
