DataBase - Credit check in GP
Asked By Jamrock

GP sales module can automatically place an order on hold if the customer is
above his credit limit.
It will give a warning if the customer has balances over a user defined
aging period.
Is there anyway to put an order on hold if the customer has balances over a
user defined aging period?

Jamrock,
Actually it’s not! We have developed a tool in our company to achieve this
goal, please check the tool technicalities below:

Yes, using Credit Process holds. You can set your limits as you would for
the warning and attach the Credit Process Hold to the document type.
I have this set up for several customers. If the customer goes over their
credit limit amount or the credit terms dates by a specified amount (we
usually give a 10.00 margin) then the sales document is placed on Process
Hold.
This is covered in detail in our Understanding Sales Order Processing
manual. there is also a FREE white paper under Free Stuff on our web site
that describes how to do this.

Yeah, Richard is right! I thought you are looking to hold the customer, not
the order.
